Kyle
Kyle Senior passed away on December 3, 2025 at CHOC with his mother, father, and family members surrounding him.
Kyle was clever, intelligent, funny, polite, caring, creative, and determined, He enjoyed cooking and had a sophisticated palate from a young age. At the age of three, Kyle’s aunt took him out for sushi and the two of them racked up a $400 bill eating sashimi and roe. For his 16th birthday in October, his aunt took him to the same sushi restaurant to celebrate. Kyle frequently shared his baking pursuits with the medical team and was most recently working on a bourbon infused vanilla extract. The vanilla extract takes a year to make and Kyle had promised to deliver homemade cookies and cakes to the Cancer Clinic and Oncology floor. Kyle’s mother shared that she plans to carry out his baking commitments in his honor.
He was a lover of Halloween and all things spooky. Kyle loved dressing up in costumes, working on special effects, and scaring people. He and his older brother Ryan enjoyed coordinating their costumes. Most recently, Kyle and his family went on his Make-A-Wish trip and got to attend Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.
Kyle fought Ewing sarcoma for almost seven years. He endured surgeries, numerous chemotherapies, and radiation. Kyle demonstrated a maturity far beyond his years and was involved in all decisions from the time of diagnosis until this last hospitalization. Although Kyle had a great desire to live, his deep faith gave him a sense of calm and peace during his final weeks and days. His friends from church spent time with Kyle this week and prayed for him at his bedside. It was so clear how deeply Kyle loved and was loved by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Kyle is forever with us!
