Leslie

Leslie passed away on December 29th, 2025, surrounded by many loved ones on our Oncology Unit. Leslie left an imprint on all of our staff - from doctors, nurses, to our EVS team.

Leslie was diagnosed with leukemia in September 2024, and despite the challenges, she continually defied the odds. Despite the refractoriness of her disease, Leslie demonstrated incredible resilience.

Leslie was most recently admitted for a prolonged stay of 193 days. Throughout this time, her mother, Marilu, never left her side. She was the embodiment of devotion, offering constant care and advocacy for her daughter. Meanwhile, Leslie’s brother, Gabriel, had to step into the role of provider for the family, yet he made every effort to be with Leslie on weekends, always showing his unwavering love and support.

Leslie’s spirit will always be remembered for her sass and playful humor, as she often affectionately called people “stinky.” Leslie loved arts and crafts, stickers, soft blankets and watching dancing videos on her iPad.

We were all so lucky to know and love Leslie and her family. They will forever be in our hearts. Leslie is forever with us!
