Pablo

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of sweet Pablo Escobar. Pablo passed away on the evening of October 15th, surrounded by his loving family, including his parents and siblings in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Pablo was a kind and gentle soul whose warmth touched everyone he met. He had an incredible memory for names and always made the effort to connect with the staff who cared for him. Over the years, Pablo received care at CHOC and spent a significant part of his life with us—becoming a beloved member of our hospital family.
Pablo would light up any room he was in and will always be remembered for his love for the Raiders, his passion for the Dodgers and his sweet smile and laugh.
Although his prognosis at a young age was uncertain, with doctors unsure he would live past the age of three, Pablo defied the odds. Through his never-ending strength, resilient spirit, and the devoted love of his parents, he battled over many challenges—including a kidney transplant, multiple chronic medical conditions, and aggressive Burkitt’s lymphoma.
Our hearts and deepest sympathies are with Pablo’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. He is forever with us!
